The Majority Leader of the Imo State House of Assembly, Hon Uche Ogbuagu was today, 4th of March 2021, sacked by his colleagues, and replaced by the member representing Owerri West.
Ogbuagu was removed, over supposed political battle with the Imo Assembly Deputy Speaker, Rt Hon Amara Iwuanyanwu.
However reliable information reaching Maazi, has it that he was removed for two reasons, being;
- some persons (in Camp Hope) feel he is a threat to OCDA boss as regards Mbaike Federal seat in 2023.
- He advised the house leadership not to meddle into the rift between Gov. Hope and Okorocha. Noting that the house is for all Imolites.
With his removal, Ogbuagu would remove the customized seal of office, he put on his car, and would lose every privilege that came With the office.
Ogbuagu, a product of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, dumped his former party, following the Supreme Court removal of Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha.
Ogbuagu was said to be holding a grudge against Ihedioha, for not supporting him for the position of Deputy Speaker of the House of Assembly.
He was rewarded by Uzodinma, with the Majority Leader position, for turning against Ihedioha.
Ogbuagu is yet to react to his removal, but several political analysts expect him as usual, to make a broadcast on his private radio station on the matter.
